Euchre is a trick-taking card game

Welcome

Euchre is a trick-taking card game most commonly played with four people in two partnerships with a deck of 24, 28, or sometimes 32, standard playing cards. Euchre (and its variations) is the reason why modern card decks were first packaged with jokers, a card originally designed to act as the right and left “bowers” (high trumps). Euchre is an offshoot of Juckerspiel, a game that became widely popular throughout Europe during the Napoleonic era. In the 1800s, it became one of the most popular card games in America and Australia.

We play Euchre so our members can enjoy playing the card game, Euchre.  Although there are many versions of Euchre, we play a modified game which everyone can enjoy.  It is not the cut-throat version.

We welcome everyone who wants to play.  If you don’t know how, but want to learn, call one of the officers and we will set up a game and teach you.  If you played years ago and would like a refresher on the rules simply come by Beardsley before our regular start time on Thursday and we will play a game or two with you.  This way once regular play begins, everyone will be ready to enjoy the evening!

Dues are $5.00 for the year and it costs a quarter for an evening of fun!  At the end of the evening those quarters are won by the highest scoring person per table.  If you are looking for an evening out with fun people, consider joining us on Thursdays!
